3-day Sesshin on Martha’s Vineyard

Middle Road Zendo is pleased to announce our 4th Annual 3-Day Sesshin under the direction of Nelson Foster, Roshi. Sesshin begins at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29 and ends after lunch on Friday, Nov 1. Full time participation in the sesshin is expected. The sesshin will be followed by our Annual Business and Sangha Building Meeting commencing late Friday afternoon and adjourning at noon on Sunday, Nov 3.

Space is limited. Please register online by Sept 20 and mail a check for $250 made out to East Rock Sangha to James McDonough (see address below). Your seat will be reserved once the check is received. Fee reduction is available. The fee covers an honorarium to Nelson, and as always there will be an on-site opportunity for additional dana. In your registration please include any special needs, medications, allergies or any condition that needs to be addressed.

Please advise James if you are only attending the Annual Meeting. A donation of $20 per day is suggested.

Feel free to arrive on Monday and help with set up. Carpooling is recommended to defray cost and save time. Please contact James if you need to be picked up and dropped off at the ferry terminal. Schedules listed on www.steamshipauthority.com.

You are expected to bring your own zafu and zabuton. Please advise if that is not possible. When making reservations for your departure on Sunday please allow time for the restoration on the site to its original state.

Attendance in both events is highly encouraged. The Annual Meeting is a wonderful opportunity for interaction and camaraderie. Bring walking shoes, beachwear if you are fearless, and anything that you want to contribute to Saturday night dinner at Billy and Emily’s house.
